A Day in May - B. V. Leck
5 mins, HD, direct animation, 2024.

B. V. Leck is the alter-ego filmmaking persona of myself and Leon Billberbeck.

This film is a collage of found footage, all captured on a single day - May 30th, 2020.

Anchored in a specific day yet spanning multiple perspectives, the film confronts the tension between personal experience and collective reality. How do we navigate a world in which history, spectacle, and the mundane unfold simultaneously through an endless stream of images? This work reflects on the way media saturation shapes our perception—forcing us to negotiate meaning within an ever-expanding archive of the present.
